Who's it for?

  • Technical leaders and champions of broadcasters and system integrators.

  • Technical directors of end users and manufacturers.

  • Technically interested event attendees.

  • If you'd like hands-on IS-04 and IS-05 NMOS experience, this is for you. You'll walk away with the knowledge that “plug and play” between products from different manufacturers is achievable and low risk.

  • If you are using or plan to use ST 2110 at your station or facility, then this is for you.

What to expect:

  • Hands-on experience with NMOS.

  • You'll get insight into how NMOS works. If you already know what NMOS is in general but have never been exposed to how it actually works, this is for you.

  • The session will take you from zero to a running NMOS environment, a tour through typical NMOS flows, based on real-life products.

  • Curriculum will be easy to understand and will focus on how NMOS/REST/Websockets work.

  • Visualize the protocols / communication and get an introduction to well-known tools to analyze NMOS network commands.

  • You'll receive bonus resources for further reading covering work in development, IPMX, and more.

Topics:

  • Plug’n-play setup using automatic device configurImageation through DHCP, DNS and NMOS

  • Introduction to the software tool Wireshark

  • NMOS IS-04 registration server

    – Functionality

    – Registration process step-by-step

    – Installation of Nvidia “Easy NMOS”

  • NMOS IS-05 connection management by example of software controllers like:

    – NMOS Crosspoint matrix

    – Pebble control free

    – Riedel NMOS explorer

    – Easy NMOS

  • Introduction to the software tool Postman

  • NMOS IS-05 under the hood

    – Introduction to RESTful API

    – Session Description Protocol (SDP)

    – Transfer of SDP files

  • NMOS beyond IS-04/05: Overview of other useful NMOS specification:

    – Resource Management: IS-09, IS-13, BCP-002

    – Connection Management: IS-08, BC-004, BCP-006

    – Device Control & Monitoring: IS-07, IS-12/MS-05, BCP-008

    – Device Configuration: IS-11, IS-14

    – Security: IS-10, BCP-003
